Cheese Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce by Devour - Deal of the Day

Intense sundried tomato sauce with cream over ricotta-filled raviolis?

What's not to like about my latest Deal of the Day from Devour, Cheese Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce.

Topped with strands of mozzarella and aged parmesan, this is a cheesy dining experience. And the raviolis are silver dollar sized and filled with mild ricotta. Ravolis are tender and hold their shape --  not overcooked like a lot of frozen pasta fare.

With a couple dozen stuffed raviolis this is a filling cheap$kate meal in a 12-ounce package.

frozen -- defrosted

You want to mix the raviolis into the sauce halfway through microwaving. Since the ravioli is not all covered with sauce, some edges get a little tough and dried out. I heated mine with a damp paper towel draped over pasta in the final minute of two of microwaving.

There is an oregano herb flavor to Devour's cream sauce and ricotta. You can taste bits of minced onion in the intense sundried tomato sauce. But with the addition of cream, the sauce is less sour than typical tomato sauces.

The balance of cream and pureed sundried tomato is quite pleasing.  I would have liked more cream sauce, but that is a good complaint!

The ingredient list is long but that's normal with cultured cheese, sauce and pasta entrees.

So on the Cheap$kate Dining Scale of 1 to 9, 9 being best I give Cheese Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce by Devour a perfect 9! I really can't deduct a point for more tasty sun-dried cream sauce...now can I?

If you run across this Deal of the Day do pick up a package and taste it for yourself.
