Super Bowl Recipes - Touchdown!

Head to the end zone for a long pass of recipes from The Culinary Quarterback. Are you ready for Superbowl LVI? Whether you're a Los Angeles Rams or a Cincinnati Bengals fan, this Fried Pig Skin Lovin' Chef has some tasty football food that will leave enough green in your wallet to buy an extra keg for your tailgate party.

Repainted Randy's Donuts in Los Angeles, just for Super Bowl LIII

Los Angeles has Superbowl fever and the above donut shop, Randy's Donuts, made special edition pastries in honor of the Los Angeles Rams. And they were so good I made a video below that features two kinds, a Sprinkles Donut and a Donut Bar with vanilla filling.

How do these compare to frozen balls of peanut butter dipped in peanut butter, better known in Ohio as Buckeyes? Hmmm, I think it is a tie! Let's head for overtime and more tasty morsels.

So if you are looking for regular eats for your Superbowl Party, I got your halfback, I mean, back. There are no fumbles in this recipe list!

Cincinnati is famous for its Chili. And they put it on everything including spaghetti! And don't forget the cheddar cheese...oh, boy. Hey, I could get used to that real quick.

What's different in the taste is a Greek-style addition of cinnamon. I have to try that sometime, but meanwhile, I have my own version of Homemade Chili that Bengal fans can bite into. My version uses a cheap cut of beef but make it the Cincinnati way and use ground beef, and don't forget to add some cinnamon!

Stuff your face Los Angeles Rams-style! Start with a reverse flea-flicker of a recipe called, Carnitas. Hours of braising reduce a pork shoulder to a tender and succulent Mexican-style taco filling. I even throw in the pigskin for extra flavor. Carnitas are what I order for late-night noshing at a taco truck.

Cincinnati knows BBQ Pork and I do too! I have a quick smoking trick that uses real smoke. Check out my video below to see my shortcut version of Smoked Pulled Pork, it's an MVP-worthy recipe.

I like my Hot Dogs messy, just like a Bengals fan would. And I mean chili-messy like my Chili Dog recipe video below (and don't forget to add shredded cheddar cheese.) You know how to make one, right? I make it extra easy by using chili from the can. Hey, throw a penalty flag at me if you think I'm cheating!

My recipe for an LA Street Dog is a freeway pileup of flavors that make an end-run around any hot dog out there.

Next to pizza and hot dogs, Fried Chicken is a fan favorite for both Superbowl challengers, and no one fries chicken better than this Cheap$kate Game Changer.

I've come up with a crunchy coating that will empty the bleachers and have fans storming the kitchen! Get Superbowl Sunday going with my Fried Chicken Sandwich Recipe, or use my special flour and spice mix for regular bone-in chicken pieces. Fry up a batch of chicken to hand off when the coin is tossed to start the game.

Football zealots are not just meat, but potato fanatics. When I barbeque burgers I also grill potatoes, how about you? Well, I got Grilled Yellow and Orange Sweet Potato recipes for you to try.

I am a French Fries Fanatic and I like mine double-fried, too. In my instruction video below check out, my frying technique (along with a Fried Fish lesson - it's a 2fer,) even a rookie just off the bench can do it!

Corned Beef is king, in Cincinnati that is. I've never had the Reuben Sandwich at Izzy's a local fave, but I have a recipe that I think is worth a handoff. A Reuben Sandwich is corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing on toasted rye bread - savory, cheesy, and sour, just the way I like it. See below how my sandwich stacks up.

Don't be intimidated making Corned Beef, it couldn't be easier when you do it my way.

Tired of stale, soggy stadium hot dogs? I have a great and easy Corn Dog Recipe made with Vienna sausages -- but you can use regular wieners. Your hungry guest will not be offsides dipping these crunchy coated pig skins into my tasty Honey-mustard Sauce.

Since you have the fryer going you might as well make a batch of my Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. They're as light and airy as the Goodyear blimp.

So get your backfield in motion and click on any recipe name above to watch an instant reply of recipes from this food blog. Your guest will be cheering you on -- from their cheap seats!
