I keep looking for it to return, but to no avail. If you find it at your local store, let my readers know!
Deli case frozen, this quick lunch dish is a great Deal of the Day. Made with red and black beans in a chili sauce, it's surprisingly spicy for a mainstream frozen entree.
While only recently exposed to a vegetarian Boca Burger, this Internet Chef is impressed with the Boca brand.
The meat substitute pieces are tiny and a little spongy, but has a good taste; it's certainly a pleasant light alternative to heavy oily canned meat chili.
The broth is thin but flavorful, and having beans that are not mush is a nice change of pace. Chunks of onion and bell pepper blend well with the Anaheim chile and tomato sauce.
The serving is small but adequate for a light vegetarian lunch, and well worth the 99.99 cents. So, on my Cheap$kate Dining Scale from one to nine, I give it an enticing eight!

Even cheap chili can be good chili. An old girlfriend would give me her unwanted Weight Watchers chili and I would gobble it up. It was pretty yummy, but the beers that accompanied it might have had something to do with my fond recollection.
Boca = Mouth... lol. Why yes I am easily amused.
I do wonder about the "meat substitute". I tend to make my own chili so I'm a bit biased.
That is the one problem with shoppong at teh .99 store or at discounters- I find things that I love and that really are a great deal. But then I can't find them again.
I'm so jealous! I've never found anything that exciting at my 99 cent store.
I too found these at my local store and loved them, being vegetarian and all, and went back to get more and got the last of them and they have not had them since and that was like two months (or more) ago.
