Spring Rolls from Dollar Tree - Deal of the Day

I've bought my share frozen Egg Rolls or Spring Rolls. I don't expect amazing Oriental appetizers here, and this Deal of the Day,  Spring Rolls by Jennifer's Garden, did not exceed my expectations, in the extreme, unfortunately.

I'm used to egg rolls without noodles, so the usual eggroll has more crunch or meaty textures inside wonton crust.

The Spring Rolls come pre-cooked, but not browned. That will happen if you grill on the stovetop like I did. I'm glad I didn't microwave them or the Spring Rolls would have been mushy inside and out.

The filling is quite soggy inside because of vermicelli noodles being so tender to the point of mushiness. The noodles are clear glass-style and plain in flavor.

The filling has crunchiness from slivers of carrot and cabbage.

The flavor filling is steamed veggie, almost like a veggie soup,  with a bit of earthy mushroom.  I thought there would be stir fry seasonings, with more soy flavors, but these egg rolls are a bit bland, not bad, just underwhelming.

Spring Rolls are typically deep-fried. I liked the crunchy wonton wrappers even with minimum to no seasoning.

I guess the most offputting part of these egg rolls are the extra greasy wonton wrappers. I should have rolled them around on an absorbent paper towel first, so that could be my fault.

You do get a nice amount with a 10 count. They are small, barely two and a half inches in length. And they are stuffed with filling.

I had a bottle of Sweet Chili Sauce, so that helped quite a bit. I would highly recommend serving these with a soy sauce for needed extra flavor.

So on the 99 Cent Chef's Cheap$kate Dining Scale of 1 to 9, 9 being best, I give this latest Deal of the Day, Spring Rolls by Jennifer's Garden a 6!

These Spring Rolls are fine, just on the bland side. You could get away serving them with other food at a party, but I would keep them in the freezer...when you are alone to gorge another time.

I buy these all the time! Bake them in the oven 7 minutes then turn them over and bake another 7 minutes, they are GREAT! Not greasy a all, crisp on the outside and slightly moist on the inside.
I rate them a 9.5 and the fact that the price is only $1.00 for a PKG. of 10 gives them a solid 10 rating in my opinion!

I would definitely give them a 10 rating. 10 for $1.00, 7 minutes each side in the oven 400 degrees, a little soy & plum sauce you're good to go yummy yummy in my tummy!

Oh! If you crisp these little guys up in a air fryer they are perfect! They're the best darn little spring rolls around. I swear a local Thai restaurant sells four of these for $6.00...lol I myself won't buy them from there LOL I go to the Dollar tree and get 10 for a buck! When I do find them I buy like six packs at a time!!

They are DELICIOUS. I am lazy so I put mine in the microwave oven, but even so, they are still very good! Great value for $1. You'd probably pay 3 or 4 $ in a regular grocery store.

I found them in our local Dollar Tree and cooked them on my George Foremen grill to get that nice crisp outer shell, and they were a hit, I went back a bought all 20 of them and shared them with coworkers. They were a hit! I'm looking for them now and came across this blog and could not help but chime in.

I saw these on Frugal Fit Mom and thought I'd try them.....made in the airfryer and they were amazing! They only had one pack left or I would have stocked up for the freezer...almost forgot, and fat grams are acceptable, as I have to watch carefully since my 2nd heart attack this summer...

hi Hopkins, I haven't looked for them in a while so don't have latest info...hmmm. If anyone out there finds them for around a buck let us know!

These ones are horrible. Canyon farms spring rolls are the best from the dollar tree hands down.

Dollar Tree doesn’t carry them anymore 😩

They come and go, so may be back?

In the Philadelphia are I can no longer find them. Is there a way that I can order them from the company directly?

I've tried cooking these all different ways & in the air fryer was BY FAR the best. The outter shell was crispy and the oil (cuz lets face it, it was too greasy lol) dripped off below making it slightly more healthy. 😅
I'm addicted to these little slices of heaven!

My Dollar Tree in Southern WI still stocks these, but they sell out fast! Unfortunately they've reduced it to 8 rolls per pack.

These are actually my favorite Spring rolls on planet Earth but I can't find them anymore the main reason they are so good it's because I use an air fryer to cook them it really drains out all of that extra oil and makes them a lot drier and super super crunchy and crispy so they are pretty amazing when you use an air fryer so definitely do that next time

I am so shocked to see this negative review! These spring rolls are delicious. I'm thinking maybe it was the way that there were prepared or they weren't cooked long enough. I usually air fry them but I have also deep fried them. Either way they are sooooo good. I am so disappointed that I can't find them anymore.

A rating of 6 out of 9 is still pretty good?

I used to buy these packages of spring rolls. Three days ago, the package I bought had only eight rolls instead of ten. When I showed that to my roommate, he replied, “Bidenomics.”

and if Trump had stolen the election we'd be in Trumpenomics with the same high prices.

I doubt it. Gas prices were much lower prior to Trump leaving the White House.

If you want cheap gas that badly then go ahead and vote for Trump, a pathological liar and a threat to our democratic republic.

I found these egg rolls at Dollar Tree, also. It took a few months to get up the nerve to try them. They sat in the freezer because all the other Spring Rolls from the Grocery store freezer section that I had tried were lousy. The my friend and I tried eating at a new for us Chinese “Dragon Buffet” Restaurant that everyone has been highly praising. The food was and is wonderfult! The spring rolls there looked just like the Jennifer’s Garden ones. So, the next time I wanted Chinese food for supper, I first tried microwaving the spring rolls, but that left them soft and mushy. Not that impressive. However, recently I had bought a WONDERFUL Panasonic Infrared Toaster Oven. I thought that the next time I would try cooking them in there, along with some La Choy frozen Sweet & Sour Chicken that I had left. Those had come out soft and mushy in the microwave, also. Ohhhh, my Gosh, did they come out fantastic and NOT greasy in that little oven. I highly recommend these Spring Rolls to be made with the conventional oven directions. Also, try La Choy’s Sweet & Sour frozen chicken along with a bottle of their sweet & sour sauce and dip these wonderful, crunchy egg rolls in that as an extra treat, along with some La Choy Chow Mein crunchy noodles. What a yummy meal I had. I only hope I can find these egg rolls again. There is no contact phone number or address for this company listed on the package, only a distributor’s partial address and a comment addy that doesn’t work. Bummer!
